I'm wondering if there are other forum members in San Diego who would be interested if I offered to host a meet?

Cool!
I can't go, but it would be cool if members can connect.
Regards, Neil

I know Welder is in San Diego (He is from IZ3D), and I live in Long Beach, pretty close. What would be done at said meetup?

It would definitely be an auto-stereoscopic 3D experience.
Many years ago, I used to be involved in Bulliten Board Systems (BBSes). Ahhhh....shameless geekhood in all its glory.
Anyways, every few months, they would hold GTs (get togethers). Bowling, movies, etc.
Is this what you had in mind?
If we could somehow get members separated into chapters around the world, this could work. We could even set up a mail blast system to announce it.
Regards, Neil

The idea for the meet would be to get to know other people in the area who are enthusiastic about stereo 3d games. Like Neil I've participated in get togethers for other interest groups - home theater, crt projectors, computer graphics, etc... Its usually a mixture of pizza/bbq/potluck and some technology demo or presentation.
My thought was to offer to host one at my home if there is any interest.
My 3D setup at the moment consists of an Acer H5360 projector and the Nvidia kit. My theater/studio is setup with several different projectors, game systems and computers. The main display screen is 168" on the diagonal. The Acer does a remarkable job and people who have been playing on desktop monitors might be interested in playing games and checking stuff out on a larger screen.
The Starcraft II patch is supposed to be out soon with 3D Vision support, perhaps we could use that as a centerpiece of something new to take a look at...
