hi, I'm curently using the zalman trimon 22" and a samsung plasma 50" television, they both take interlaced vidéo so I tought the zalman drivers would work on both but voila, they need a diferent resolution input to work in 3D
zalman= 1680*1050
samsung= 1360*768
and with all the locks and restrictions from nvidia, when I change my screen resolution for the samsung, the drivers won't show interlaced mode anymore, switching to anaglyph 3D :(
does anyone know about some ways to unlock support for interlaced with a new resolution in those drivers?

Samsung is using checkerboard pattern at 1360x768; I'm not sure current 3D Vision drivers support it.

hi DmitryKo,
thank you for answering :)
I have the ps-50b451 and it support both, interlaced and checkerboard format, I use the stéréoscopicPlayer zalman edition (interlaced only) to view videos and it works great on this tv so it would be nice if I can get it to work with those drivers too :shutter

Sorry, I forgot that these Samsung plasmas also support horizontal and vertical interleaved formats in addition to checkerboard format.

I can't really say anything about current Nvida stereo drivers, since I've been an ATI guy for the last 4 years, however in light of not so recent trends, I'd imagine Nvidia would actually look up the display ID and disable stereo support for anything absent from their list of supported hardware.

You can try iZ3D drivers with the plasma, but you have to buy a license for checkerboard output (or vertical interleaved output, if you want to try both displays), and you probably won't be able to simultaneouly use your plasma and your Trimon.

There is a thread about Samsung 3D ready plasmas - you might want to try to ask the owners about their ways of setting it up in multiple display configurations.

Nvidias drivers do support a few HDTVs but I am not sure if that model is supported. However you should be able to use the IZ3D drivers.

as the tv and the zalman are both conected and use the same 3D format (horizontal interlaced) I tought it would work this way with nvidia drivers but they only work in 1680*1050 to support the zalman...I will try different setting for my dual screen and see if I can get some results out of it.

of course I use the IZ3D drivers but right now I don't want to buy a licence, because I have différent kind of setups:
edimensional on crt,
zalman trimon 22"
samsung plasma with dlp glasses
and probably soon a vidéo projector or a new tv-set (don't know wich one yet)

those setup will be used on 2 pc's, one with my curent nvidia 8800gts² and one with some more recent ati gpu that I'm planning to buy (still waiting for the prices to fall  )

so with all of this, I'm not sure yet what iz3D drivers I'm going to need, right now interlaced would be ok but if the projector or tv I'm going to buy will support 120hz active 3D (and it will probably) then I think I should wait for the non beta shutter support in the iz3D drivers, in that case I'll buy this one but not the interlaced, if not (I'd like a passive tv set if they become available) then I should buy the interlaced drivers but not the shutter ones.

well, all this is complicated of course so it would be a good start if I can get:

[*] the nvidia drivers to work at least on 1 pc with the trimon + the plasma and
[*] the iz3D on the 2nd pc with the crt/edimensional+projector or new tv set

otherwise I will have to pay more for the drivers plus stereoscopicPlayer then for the material itself LOL

ps: I don't want the checkerboard license because I also use the stereoscopicPlayer zalman édition (horizontal intelaced only) so I would have to change the settings on the tv each time I view a vidéo or play a game, I preffer to have both player + drivers in the same 3D output

@ cybereality
I think you are talking about the 3D vision drivers but they are not the same as the one for zalman, those for zalman do work only if they detect the zalman on your setup

The iz3D drivers are very good quality. Not everything in life is free.

I'm not saying I want it for free, on the contrary, I'm about to install win7 on my pc, wich mean I could easily use the free eval. versions of the iz3D for several month and for free but it's not what I'm looking for, I'm trying to see wich one I should buy or not according to my setups and my needs.

one last thing, even if I end-up buying both interlaced and shutter from iz3D, would that mean I have no right to test or use nvida's at all ?
I don't think so

I own a 50" Samsung Plasma. With the "Generic DLP" setting, the nVidia driver works perfectly in the current driver release! iZ3D also does, so I can use both drivers to get the best result for a specific game.

hi Nobsi, I think you are talking aboput nvidia's 3D vision drivers, they are not the same as nvidia zalman drivers and won't work with my setup, I need some interlaced output to make it work

Nvidia has just one 3D driver that works with 3D Vision, Zalman and 3D-DLP. It just detects your display and changes the settings automatically.

oh ok, but I'm still under xp so the drivers are not the same one, they do not support 3D vision and I don't know about dlp (I don't think so)
I have been thinking about iz3D, maybe I'll take them if I find a way to set both my screens at native resolution, maybe in "clone mode" because for now when I open an app in full screen it's always on the primary
I will also try with ultramon see what I can get out of it and maybe set them in dual mode

If you disable Scaling on the Zalman and then run games at 1360x768 in Clone Mode you should get the results your looking for, but you will have a smaller image on the Zalman screen with a black border.

You can find the Scaling settings in the nVidia Control Panel under Adjust Desktop Size and Position

yesss, thanx BlackholeOfSouls, this seem to work with STplayer (didn't try with the drivers yet) but only in dual view, I will keep it like this for now and try ultramon later in clone mode

oh sorry, I'm mistaking, it works in clone mode with the scaling option off but then you're right, it gets very small... too small :(
it also work in dual view with the option "change resolution/enable panning resolution = off, this work in full screen but... it's dual view :(
so I still have to check ultramon see if I can get it in clone mode
