Has anybody seen and compared the picture quality on Samsung PS50B450 to PS50B451 (PN... in US)?
These are 3Dready plasma TV sets and only different in contrast (Mega Contrast), as far as I know.
Thx
Tom

We took the better PS50B450 as there is no price difference at the moment. (€700)

YES, 3D works with 120Hz @ 1360x768. (it shows 60Hz for each eye)

Re: Samsung 3Dready plasma
A relative of mine has one of these Samsung 3D plasmas (maybe even the same model) but they don't use the 3D function.
My question is this, would one of these plasmas work if connected over VGA to a PC using shutter glasses and a dongle i.e. could it be used like a CRT monitor to get the 3D or will it only work with the specific glasses connected to the 3D input?
I'm assuming that the 3D only kicks in using the 3D input with correct glasses.
Many thanks

Re: Samsung 3Dready plasma
3D mode has to be activated and only works on HDMI2/DVI - so forget VGA.
You need a DVI to HDMI cable, a 3-pin VESA plug IR transmitter with according shutterglasses:
XpanD X101 3D Stereoscopic Active 3D Glasses
RealD CrystalEyes
NuVision 60GX
eDimensional Wireless Glasses
Samsung SSG1000
---
3Dvision glasses work as well but the PC has to fulfill NVIDIA requirements (geforce8800 or better)

Those Shutter Glasses you listed, a couple of them (XpanD & RealD) sayxFullHD3D wrote:3D mode has to be activated and only works on HDMI2/DVI - so forget VGA.

"This Type of glasses do NOT require emitter. the glasses work with Mitsubishi and Samsung DLP TV and with 3D ready projectors."
Will this indeed work? Or do they still need something connected to the 3D Sync port on the back of the Mitsu DLP?

Re: Samsung 3Dready plasma
on XpanD website I read:
Product Description
With the XpanD X101 active 3d glasses ... In order to use this product you must buy a 3D package with IR emitter from XpanD
the "XpanD X102" and "RealD CrystalEyes 5" do not need an emitter, but a display that includes a proper DLP® Link chip
Does your display have one of these link chips?
If yes you can be the one who will hopefully tell us more about it...
