LG is set to release it's first 3D TV -- the 47-inch 47LH50 LCD -- into the Korean market next month. As our tech overlords, this could signal a trend that'll head west. In fact, LG estimates that the 3D television market will exceed 30 million units by 2012 -- exactly what we'd say too if we were in the business of selling televisions. Hmm, 30 million TVs multiplied by 4.5 pairs of glasses required for the average household -- guess we'll be investing in polarized lenses.

"LG readies first 47LH50 3D LCD TV -- just 29,999,999 to go"

29,999,999 South Korean monies = £14,606, okay I'll take it if it comes with the #3 pair of Gordon Freeman (half life) polarised glasses?

Wait I mean if the model takes pity on me and stays in the UK when she delivers it as I've not got enough friends for all #3 pairs :(

yeah if for the £14,606 you get the screen, several pairs of glasses and the model then a pretty good deal

I'm not willing to pay the price of a mid sized car for a 3d TV. That's way overpriced.

29,999,999 KRW -> 23,706,600 USD -> 16,966.682 EUR -> 737,862.9572 RUB -> 316,212.0535 MXN

NO WAY!

Wait... duh, it's not going to be that amount. That's the amount left to be sold to reach 30 million units.

Price hasn't been disclosed yet... so let's wait.

I doubt its going to cost that much. Looks like its working with xpol technology and thats really not *that* expensive, even for a 47" set. The most it would sell for is maybe $5,000, I'm thinking more like $3,200 or less. If you are trying to import then it may be a bit more. Also, the model is sold separately.

That is kinda confusing. They are already selling a non 3D 47LH50, which costs 1700 USD.

I have a feeling the model number was mistranslated. Or the 3D monitor shown is a standard 47LH50 that has been modified.

Edit: Opps. The one photo just made it look very thick. It is actually a thin monitor
