I do not know which setup you are pursuing (especially the choice of display) but if you follow my posts on
this thread I wouldn't set my hopes too high it will work.
For your explanation: The circuitry I breadboarded does basically the same thing as the nextstepsolution box, and I could shift phase (aka delay) the sync signal by as much as 360 degrees. While I was able to feed it with horizontal sync pulses and Vesa Sync I was not able to reduce ghosting with a LCD based display...maybe DLP works better though due to it's impulse type nature...
