With the new drivers Win7 was still locking up the complete computer when 3d was activated for a few seconds. Then I started to look at device manager on vista (where it works) and 7. One difference I noticed was that on vista the SMBUS (umbus) driver was not installed. Now on 7 I decided to try and uninstall all the UMBUS devices, which needed a reboot and I was thinking, well they'll probably come back after reboot, well they didn't. And stereo works without lock up now, or so it seems. I also can't bring back my UMBUS devices to test whether they are really the cause of the problems... could be a fluke...

EDIT: Well, the same thing worked for my other comp, so not that random it seems. I suppose nvidia has a compatibility issue to fix.

What is a UMBUS device?
I haven't got somthing like that....

The new driver works like a charm on 7 64bit. I-Fluid is a great experience in 3d ;)

UMBUS is the successor to SMBUS (look it up on wikipedia, I'm too lazy ;). I did not delete the Intel(R) ICH9 Family SMBus Controller. What I did delete was devices with UMBUS in their name. For some reason my problems then disappeared and the same thing worked on both computers I had been having trouble on in win7. Because they didn't return on reboot, nor when I press scan for hardware changes, I think windows might have replaced them by another driver, but since I didn't think to make screenshots before...

Ah ok intresting...

I have them in my system installed... (Under System devices) with the standart microsoft driver.

Do you have build 7000, 7068 or 7100?
On my laptop I have the frezes with 7068 but with 7100 it worked...

I have 7077 on one computer and 7100 on the other. I had the same problems on both, and they were seemingly resolved at both by removing the umbus devices. It's possible though that during this process something else happened as well, so I'm not completely sure umbus is the actual cause of the freezes in conjunction with 3dvision, but that's how it appears. In any case, I'm very happy I can use win 7 now, as I don't have a vista license, so I was just using a trial :)

as long you system functions well even without the umbus everything ist ok ;)

Sad the Runes of Magic is still bugged with Nvidia and crashes with IZ3D...

Litle hint for all with the driver:
Try I-Fluid in 3D.
Dynasty Warriors 6 is also great.

Hi Guys,

on the weekend I installed the Win7 RC and this 185.85 driver package ...

I had some slim hopes that my shutterglasses would be supported, but aparently the overpriced Vision3D glasses are mandatory, because all I have now is support for anaglyph glasses or is there some kind of workaround available ?

Cheers,
Maggi

Only to got a Zalman monitor.

This are the only two solutions supported by the driver.

I noticed something strange on the Zalman US site a couple of days ago... Apparently they are now affilaited with Tridef now?

http://www.zalman.com/ENG/Contact/News/read.asp
edit:
Direct link does not work. Try this:
http://www.zalman.com/eng/main.asp
Then click on "Mind Blowing 3D at The Lowest Pri..." below.

Does this mean that nVidia is dropping support for Zalman? That would really suck for me (as I've got a Zalman 22"). :P

I haven't had a chance to check out this latest nVidia driver release yet.

Stuck at work right now... can anyone confirm whether the latest nVidia driver works with Zalman or not?

Now for some actual feedback on the driver. GTA IV works in stereo now, and GuildWars has the HUD fixed at screendepth now finally eventhough there is no profile for it, wonder what was changed to make that happen. Very pleased with this though :) Tomorrow I suppose is time to actually start playing some games again instead of just testing ;)

Driver works well for me in anaglphy but DESPERATLY needs a Covergence Bar!

I'm finding the drivers good, performance is much higher than with iz3D's driver in Red/Cyan. The 3D effect however just doesn't seem as good though :(
