I've been watching this site for a while. I started as soon as I heard about the potential for console games to go 3d. God I wish they would they hurry up. I had an old sega system with shutter glasses when i was a kid and I have seriously been waiting forever to get quality 3d in home for movies and gaming, and not anaglyph. So I've been searching everyday for news when the a stereoscopic game will be out for the consoles and I have signed up for beta as a next3d player tester. I own the pn42a450, which was bought specifically for the 3d ready ability. I have a dell inpiron 1500 laptop. I'm specifically buying the glasses for the next3d player but if they work on my laptop ...bonus. If not I plan on building a new pc later this year.
I am currently trying to decide which glasses to get and I request your help in deciding.
I ordered the ssg1000 and an extra pair of glasses form samsungparts but received a call saying the single pairs are no longer available. Which me and I'm out about $250 for 2 sets of glasses. I have also seen these:
http://www.ddd.com/cart/product.php?pro ... t=1&page=1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
http://www.i-glassesstore.com/dlp3d-bundl-adv.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
So here's my questions and thanks so much for taking the time to help me out.
Are those latter 2 packages the same package, just branded differently?
Is it possible to use one of those latter sets with the ssg1000 kit with a div splitter?
I know the quality of the ssg1000 is better than the i/o's but is the comfort level that much better as well?
Basically I'm wondering if the the samsung's are worth the extra $50-$100 for the comfort and if I get those will I be able to expand with other glasses since samsung isn't selling the single units. I don't want to have to spend $125 for glasses for each guest, so I'd like to use both if possible.
Finally on a side note: This forum is truly the only source to get the latest 3d info. I'm sure there's a ton more people in the shadows just like me just waiting for it to hurry up and happen, so thanks for leading the rally cry.

after some more research I'm thinking I'm just going to go with these:
http://i-glassesonline.stores.yahoo.net ... -2set.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
It's less money, by about $140. The reviews for tri-def software were less than stellar and I don't have an hdmi out on my notebook. I figure wait until I build my new pc or research what is the cheapest way to get hdmi off my laptop. I've got some time as my intial use will be the next3d player.
2 questions:
These are the same type offered on the tri-def site correct?
Anyone know of cheap options to get hdmi or dvi out from my laptop that will work.
In general any opinions on this?

Hi
It's confusing with all the different shutter glasses and /or drivers.
F.ex. I have no idea which driver to use with the Samsung shutter glasses (which You can't buy anymore?)?
Are the DDD shutter glasses different than the Samsung/Nvidia etc.
Normally with PC's there is a 3D driver (which sync the glasses and the display) to install, but with consoles it's different I would imaging?
I hear Sony, Playstation are working towards getting their consoles working with 3D...
Maybe someone with a lot of money (and living in US were You can buy the HDTV's) should test all the combinations of glasses/displays. I think it would be a major breakthrough if someone could describe how to get a console game working in 3D. Even a laptop working. I think I'll make a "How to get a console working" page on my website if someone will tell me what instructions to put on the page. Pls email me if You get it to work: freke1@mail.com.

I think these http://www.ultimate3dheaven.com/vifx3dcogltu.html will turn console games into a pseudo-3D.
I came here to chew bubblegum and to see 3D...and I'm all out of bubblegum!
