Time to replace Windows 7 according to Steam. Need 3D
It seems it's time to retire Windows 7 according to Steam and my Windows 7 3D vision setup. Should I get Windows 10 or 11 that works with 3D Vision on a 1080TI? I only play Skyrim SE and GTAV mostly and older games that worked with Helixmod fixes. I don't really play newer games.

It will work even on Windows 11, but you'll have more things to worry about on 10/11 compared to 7. The way I do it is I install a game as usual via Steam, find the folder where it's installed, copy that game folder to a separate folder, like C:\Games or whatever, and then download and copy a "no stream fix" to that copied folder. There are a few benefits to this approach:
- You can play without Steam in the background, so it starts faster and might run better
- This version won't autoupdate, so if the existing 3D fix works fine now it will never be broken by a game update
- If Steam stops supporting your OS, you don't care because you don't use it to start the game
This won't work for online games of course.

nope, dont give up on win7! it's the last good version of windows, everything is telemetry/marketing/AI after 7. even the ui changes are outrageous, who designs/wrecks this stuff?!
plus they keep adding bloat to slow down your pc and force you to keep upgrading hardware (just like the way some video card drivers get mysteriously slower a few versions before they release a new card)
there are more games compatible with win7 than you could play in decades so choose an os based on what you like to use, not on getting forced to change it

Agreed. Windows 7 still works great, even on a newer platform that doesn't officially support it (CPU released in 2019).
