Hard Reset black screen

Hello, guys. Can someone try to run Hard Reset ?
When I start it I have black screen and nothing happens, when I press alt+tab - 3D turns on and I can see process running, when I try to alt+tab back - 3D turns off and screen goes black again
I'm on win10 (tried the latest and previous drivers) As far as I can remember it was fine 2-3 months ago

Just installed it, works perfectly fine.
Windows 10 1909, nVidia driver 452.06

Forgot that this games looks really neat in 3D, but I gave it up years ago as it became a bit boring. Maybe I'll pick it up again, hm

Not working here- Win 10 2004, Driver 425.31. Game runs OK, but does not engage 3D at any time. Stereo checkbox in Video settings is always greyed out. I think that maybe the game asks the OS if 3D is available, and on 2004 they pulled that code out of the OS altogether.

This is a native 3D game, and I would expect 425.31 to run it no problem- but it doesn't. DX9, so don't have 3Dmigoto overrides available.

@mistersvin21: That sounds like maybe the driver is corrupted. I get that behavior sometimes where 3D sort of works, but is mostly broken. LED on the monitor stays stuck green that it thinks 3D is enabled, even if disabled.

Oh sh**, so I saw today that I have a 2004 update pending, so that means I should hold off?

Losti, did you try this game in specific?

Every other game I try is working fine- but not Hard Reset. Besides which I specifically said I used 425.31 where no driver hacks or fixes are necessary.

Nope. Just suggested my tool for the user in case a messed up driver is the source of the issue.

If you have used ddu and installed a driver on a clean base, the Tool will do nothing else. Than it seems to be a game speciffic Problem introduced in win 10 2004.

i managed to do fresh install of 1909v with the latest (october) updates and is still the same, so the problem is not 2004v but some of updates

Same issue here...

I tried disabling fullscreen optimizations(Right-Click EXE > Properties > Compatibility Tab > Check Disable Fullscreen Optimizations box) that got rid of the black screen issue, then I had to change the refresh rate to 120Hz in the options to get 3D enabled and Ctrl+T turn it on... had to turn it on with Ctrl+T every time I ran it, seems to default to off even though there's not a setting to in it's Profile...

I just updated 3DFM and noticed the update for Hard Reset profile, now it works fine, big thanks to Pauldusler for fixing it

Have a look at these settings in an older d3dx. It sounds like it might be related.
