Geo-11 Assetto Corsa fix
Hey all I tried Assetto Corsa with Geo11 v0.6.56 64bit and it worked using Katanga_vr mode. I mainly posted this for spin1 but if others have it and need help Please feel free to post here about your issue but for me it worked..

Doesn't work in nvidia_dx9 output for me on 516.79 drivers. It just crashes back to menu (which is always 2D anyway). Got plenty of other games working with nvidia_dx9 output, but not this one. Works perfectly in TAB/SBS. Having said that, I am not too fussed because I just use TAB mode anyway or play my sims in proper VR. But just posting this to state that I think there might be an issue with AC with latest drivers with nvidia_dx9 output.
spin1 wasnt getting TAB output when he changed it in AC so that to me says he wasnt correctly running geo-11 as that doesnt care about any 3DVision at all so that mode should work no matter what driver you are running or whether you have 3DVision installed or not.

well isnt the dx9 output fro games that are dx9 or am I missing something?

You are mistaken in thinking that nvidia_dx9 geo-11 output is for DX9 games only. It isn't. I run all my DX11 games using it if I want 3DVision output. I think its the only output available to those of us with later drivers (516.79). It works perfectly fine with DX11 games. then what is it exactly?? I dont get it.. is it outputting the game to dx9 mode or something?
I just read it but not sure why they call it dx9 mode:
nvidia_dx9 - works on latest drivers. Requires 3D Vision Driver. Requires game in exclusive fullscreen

No, its just the internals of the nvidia driver that allows outputting Frame-sequential (Frame Packed?) output to 3DVision monitors (or in my case 3DTVPlay). Geo-11 just makes use of it by calling it directly passing its buffers. The actual finer technical details I am not 100% on, just the approximate method. The game is still running DX11. geo-11 only supports dx11. There is no Dx11 -> dx9 conversion, its just the "I now need to render Frame Sequential, lets use the existing drivers nvidia_dx9 mode for that". Those of us with later drivers (516.79) do not have nvidia_dx11 available to us as Nvidia broke that render path in later drivers but left the "nvidia_dx9" render path in tact, but we can still play DX11 games in 3DVision using nvidia_dx9 output simply because that has not been broken in the latest drivers.The_Nephilim wrote: ↑Sun Jul 31, 2022 12:00 am then what is it exactly?? I hope that makes sense. I dont know how to explain it any better.
People with drivers 452.06 and below can use nvidia_dx11 output as well. It supports windowed mode I believe, the dx9 path does not as thats only fullscreen, so they are different, but when it comes to full screen Frame Sequential, then either path would do and forunately for Geo-11, nvidia did not break the nvidia_dx9 render path in latest drivers, otherwise we would not be able to use 3DVision output in later drivers.
Also, when we inject 3DVision into our drivers, its version 425.xx which does not required the special hack I believe, hence why that is also not a problem with later drivers.

OH OK I see now thnx for the explantion.. I thought that was dor DX9 games lol but I use Katanga_VR mode anyhow..

I tried this on my 1080ti machine that has 452.06 driver installed. nvidia_dx11 output worked perfectly fine. nvidia_dx9 output crashes back to 2D menu. So, I think this does not work with nvidia_dx9 output at all using geo-11 no matter what driver.
Being as drivers after 452.06 can only use nvidia_dx9 for 3DVision output, then this game does not work currently for later drivers using 3DVision output mode.

Sorry if this is a stupid question but Katanga VR...is obviously for VR headsets, right? I'm assuming it's to make non-VR headset games work in 3D and with VR headsets?
