Using wii nunchuk by itself?

Anyone know if/how to use the wii nunchuk by itself and map the stick to WASD?

I do not think it is possible - how would the nunchuk communicate with the computer?

connecting via usb adapter. I have seen it being done on youtube but I was trying to see if anyone in the forum had experience with it and knew if it was actually possible or not.

Oh, I see. I did not realize there were such adapters.

As the nunchuk will be tethered anyway, you might as well use a Wii controller extension cable and then just connect Wiimote the usual way.
