Edit: Does anyone else suffer the steam client randomly crashing after installing VireIO Perception v4.0 Alpha 3? Backed up steamapps and reinstalled steam to fix it.

Don't use on official servers. Ban warning.
DirectX 11 not officially supported.
Vireio is a complicated setup. Read the Manual.

I got it running at about 3 fps. No head tracking or motion controller.

Disabled Steam Overlay
Disabled SteamTheater Mode In-Game Settings and Ark Properties.
Reduced Graphics settings to minimum with a 1280 x 720 resolution.
Disabled Anti-Cheat for ARK

SteamVR Settings:

Video Tab
Checked Manual Overide and reduced the resolution of the Vive.

Developer Tab
Disabled SteamVR Home Beta
Checked Allow asynchronous reprojection
Checked Allow interleaved reprojection
Checked Enable Advanced Supersample Filtering

I added this line to profiles.xml in the cfg_v4 folder:

<profile game_name="ARK:SE" game_exe="ShooterGame.exe" cpu_architecture="64bit" dx_version="11" />

manual says copy these to root folder:

d3d9.dll
hijackdll.dll
libfreespace.dll
VRboost.dll

I also copied these over too just in case:

d3d9_64.dll
hijackdll64.dll
VRBoost64.dll

VireioPerception.ini is in the root folder once you load the game once with SteamVR and Vireio

Changed values in VireioPerception.ini :

sCinemaRoomSetup.bPerformanceMode=1
sCinemaRoomSetup.bImmersiveMode=1
sCinemaRoomSetup.fGamma=0.5
bForceInterleavedReprojection=1
