Welcome to MTBS' ULTIMATE Virtual Reality Holiday Shopping Guide! http://www.mtbs3d.com/articles/editoria ... ping-guide

Where better to do it than from Neil's Messy Basement?!?  What a mess indeed!

This guide was specially designed for people that don't know the first thing about virtual reality or computers and want to learn more.  We think this will help VR shoppers at all technical levels, and as messy as Neil's basement looks (ok, it's not THAT messy), this won't require a mad scientist's understanding to get the most out of this.  You'll be jumping into the metaverse in no time!

Feel free to post deals as they come in for all vendors. Just got an email alert about this for Black Friday and Cyber Monday:

Looks like Oculus is answering with their own $100 discount:

I didn't know that Oculus was on sale at the Microsoft store in Canada and the USA. Watch the "Where to Try" section of the guide because the customer satisfaction policy may be very different (in a good way) at the Microsoft Stores versus the other retailers. Ask first! Don't assume.

In Canada at least, the Oculus Rift is only available as an online purchase. According to their website, the return policy is the same (30 days, good condition, no modifications, etc.). Their media relations team are doing more digging to be sure.

Anyways, ASK FIRST before finalizing your purchase and assuming the return policy. Play it safe. If the policy is the same as it is for HTC, this would be a big advantage for the Microsoft Store as a VR retailer.

Microsoft Media relations team confirmed it. Oculus Rift has the same return policy as the HTC Vive at Microsoft Stores which is a MAJOR thing if you live in Canada; possibly other parts of the world too.
