LucasFilm sold to Disney

Post by brantlew »

Holy crap! Never saw this coming. I figured the captain would go down with the ship. Star Wars "dance party" was pretty much the last straw for me though. sad... The franchise definitely needs to be taken out of his hands. Hope Disney can respect the material and not Disney-fy it too much.

Interesting development. Could be good, but they will probably mess things up.

Could the honestly really possibly mess Star Wars up anymore than it has been messed up?

3 atrocious prequels, egregious mishandling and editing of the originals, a decade of lacklustre spin offs and merchandise.

Given what Disney has managed to do with Marvel... I'd say that they have a pretty good track record at this point for righting this toppling IPs.

I mean... I guess they could still John Crater it... but I think a lot of that movie's failures came down to brand awareness and marketing, something that I don't think will be a problem for Star Wars Ep 7-9.

Personally, I hope this means we'll get VR tie fighter games. First Star Citizen, now Tie Fighter 2? The golden age of gaming is truly upon us!

Yes, they absolutely need to revisit Star Wars cockpit simulators - especially with the Rift. I think this whole forum would blow their collective wad for a Rift enabled cockpit sim of the Battle of Yavin.
