Non-3D HMD

Post by Robborboy »

I was just curious if anyone has cobbled together a HMD with one picture for each eye, but -without- having to have 3D or any sort os special distortion software to compensate for what lenses would do? Essentially what I want to do is cobble together something like the Vuzix Wrap 920 but with 1080p screens and HDMI inputs. Just seems like nobody manufactures something simple like this for a reasonable price.

There was the ST-1080 that was 1080P, but they didn't make too many and are almost impossible to find.

The only thing close that is available today would be the Zeiss Cinemizer OLED. It's not HD, but it will accept an HDMI 1.4a 2D or 3D signal so you can use with a variety of modern devices.
