Hello,I'm new to community, yet i have a problem, while trying to play on FTB Packs, I've stumbled upon http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/ma ... mment=1360 bspkrsCore jar, which freezes minecraft at mojang logo stage. What do i do now?

I believe it's incompatible. I'll start off by saying that I know basically nothing about programming and I don't want to make it sound otherwise.
It seems like that for a lot of people Minecrift being built on top of Optifine is causing a lot of problems. I also notice that there have been a number of mods projects (I think the most recent of which was abandoned around MC v1.6.2) that seem to create side-by-side "cross eye 3D" effect without requiring optifine:

Since they all appear to have been abandoned I wouldn't be surprised if they would be willing to send over what they've done so far, or there might be information to be gained just by taking a look at the files in the mods they produced.

If I can recall, 3D has never been an issue, and the original versions of this mod had it without Optifine. Optifine was added to try and improve performance, which in VR is extremely valuable.

From the sound of things, Mojang is gradually prepairing 1.8 for a proper release soon..
So don't get too attached to 1.7.10, since 1.8 gets WAY better FPS, I'd assume it'll be way better for VR.

The UPS guy just dropped off my DK2 a couple hours ago, and I've tried out some demos! hooooly craaap! I can't believe how solid everything stays locked. Just wish more demos had proper implementation, most of them don't work right or require work-arounds.. The screen is simply wonderful, bright and sharp, and I barely notice the pixels at all, they're way too small to care about. heh
Minecrift is gonna be insane with a DK2.

Question: Has anybody managed to run Minecraft on DK2? It just arrived and it would be so great to have that running.
Running minecrift-1.6.4-b28 the Oculus device is not detected, as far as I can see. It only runs in "Extend to Desktop" mode when I manually maximize the window on the correct Screen. In the VR Settings menu the "Oculus" button stays disabled when I turn "VR Mode" on. Also Basic head orientation tracking is not present, even if enabled in the menu.
Does anyone know a solution how to get Minecraft running on DK2? Thanks!

Stella is currently working on a Port to SDK 0.4.0 and Minecraft 1.7.10, though there isn't an ETA. As soon as any info is available, you'll find it here.

It does work on DK2 if u use "minecrift-1.6.4-031_Preview_b1-installer", extended display mode and before starting minecraft kill "wscript.exe" and "OVRservice_x64.exe" from task manager to get tracking to work.

I'm trying to run this with Tekkit 1.6.4 like the build 28.
I don't have my DK2 but helping a friend who does. We get to loading and building terrain then black screen without error or sometimes with this crash.

Hi,
I'm using the b31 build with a DK2 and VR mode works (with rotational but not positional tracking),
but I don't know how to get it to render on the Rift instead of the main monitor.
Is there an option I overlookced that does the trick?
I suppose I could set the DK2 to be the primary monitor but that is quite inconvenient so I'd rather find another way.

First you need to run a clean install of Minecraft 1.6.4
Then you need to install the latest version of forge they recommend with the forge installer, install optifine, then run the Minecrift install. Then setup your profile and play.
My issue is not being able to play it with Tekkit 1.6.4, or only being able to get 60FPS which seems locked on Vanilla with minecrift.

I keep the DK2 as secondary monitor, then I just drag the window over to the Rift's screen, maximize. Then put it in fullscreen, I suppose you can keep it in windowed mode though.Deop wrote:Hi,

I'm aiming to get a 1.7.10 windows preview release out not this Sunday, but next. It will support DK2. It will be buggy but I'll work to squash those bugs over the coming weeks...

Will you be able to release a way to implement this into FTB 1.6.4 or Tekkit 1.6.4? Or can guide me a bit better? I get my DK2 Tuesday and would love to play on my Tekkit server with my friend who have the device as well.

It's a lower priority for me at the moment, but as soon as the 1.7.10 version is reasonable stable I will probably back port to 1.6.4, and do a forge compatibility pass to make sure it's forge 965 compliant. I'm aiming to get a 1.7.10 windows preview release out not this Sunday, but next. It will support DK2. It will be buggy but I'll work to squash those bugs over the coming weeks...
Will you be able to release a way to implement this into FTB 1.6.4 or Tekkit 1.6.4? Or can guide me a bit better? I get my DK2 Tuesday and would love to play on my Tekkit server with my friend who have the device as well.

Also Stella - Are you doing a full all singing all dancing 0.4.0 SDK implementation? Timewarp, SDK distortion, direct rendering mode, etc?
In addition to that, will there be lots of lovely options to tinker about with? =p One of my biggest disappointments with the demos I've been using today has been that only one has actually had any options at all. =[

SDK? The whole caboodle. Direct won't work yet however sadly, we'll have to wait for an update from the Oculus chaps for that. Options? Also, why isn't Direct possible without an update? If it's too difficult to explain then it doesn't matter, but I am curious

To help prevent the HUD drift, make sure that you look UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT during the splash screen calibration.
Don't just look forward and hit spacebar like it tells you to! Look Up, Down, Left and Right- then look forward and hit spacebar.
I found this made Minecrift on DK2 playable and enjoyable for me. I am using the b31 DK2 driver FYI.

Yea, I just tried the newest snapshot on the Game of Thrones map, and the framerate keeps up much better with an absurd amount of geometry onscreen. I can load into FBT: Monster walk around for a bit before it crashes, its come down to a few mods that care causing it such as Forestry and another one I forget. However, removing Forestry seems to break the pack for some reason.

If you're alright with doing this, it's probably worth it to just make your own pack. Look at the mods you want to use, and only include them. It's easier to debug + lighter on the system.

Yeah, I think a custom pack will be the best. Don't get me wrong minecraft is great, but I just can't ever get back into Vanilla after moving to bukkit, then tekkit and its newer iterations. I haven't followed MC since 1.4 i think, not sure if there were any more improvements on things like machinery so you have more to do than just dig and build houses lol.

I'm having an issue with 1.6.4 vanilla with the b31 preview. Seems whenever I set the Rift as primary, load the game, it goes full screen on the Rift. However, the menu/GUI is at the bottom of the screen and only the top 1/4 of the GUI (basically where it says Minecraft) is visible. How can I fix this? I cant see anything to view VR options and and reset origin. Is there a hotkey I can use to do this?
