John Carmack gives quite a lot of details into the workings of his HMD he's working on. Very exciting news.

Its a bit disenheartening how everyone seems to think this HMD is Johns not PalmerTech's. I would have hoped tech writers would be a bit more accurate.

It's kind of sad that you had to point out that the HMD is actually Palmer's

Or is it Palmer works together with John at Id Software for this. Anyway, the NDA for the vr works is signed between Palmer and Id Software.
