wait I'm confused where is it? All I found on the main page was a link to this:
http://www.reuters.com/article/pressRel ... MW20080806
and we all already know about the 26' iz3d research model thing- which is very exciting but we haven't even seen a photo thus far. Am I missing something.

thank for the link, lets hope some more info/images will be available soon.
I do have to agree regarding UT3 - since UT3+ 5.1sound + 22' iz3d = da bomb!
I feel so privileged being able to have this experience.

Unfortunatly the UT3 does not work with NV drivers, right?
Is that also in the ranking for the A-Gold? Is A-Gold the best non-Native award?
Well I'm glad things are beginning to move faster and consoles in S-3D should be great for showing what is possible.

Rankings:
1. Native
- no stereo driver needed for MTBS recognized equipment.
2. Platinum
- Compatible with all MTBS recognized stereo driver solutions (iZ3D and NVIDIA).
3. Gold
- Compatible with one or more stereo driver solutions. In this case, iZ3D drivers.
The A, B, and C classifications refer to anomaly or setting expectations.
Regards,
Neil

The future is bright for us.
Did someone record some of the presentations and post them on the net (youtube, google videos, etc)?
While we're talking about gaming with RealD technology, I have something to tell. I went to a RealD theater this weekend to see Journey to the center of the earth. The theater where I went had a lot of rooms but not much attendance. While exiting, I noticed an advertisement poster on the wall. It said that you can rent a whole theater room for a few hours to play games with your friends on a big screen. I don't know if you can only play on a console they let you use or if you can bring your own computer. It would be awesome if you could bring your computer and play games on a RealD screen with S-3D.

Regards, Neil Why aren't the TriDef drivers a "MTBS recognized stereo driver"?

That's a question you need to ask DDD or your favorite 3D HDTV solution. We are happy to work with anyone who will contribute to MTBS and the S-3D community in an official manner. The door has always been open.
Regards,
Neil

Quote: Oh! The NVIDIA stereo drivers are expected to support OpenGL in S-3D by version 180 of the GeForce drivers along with several other compatibility enhancements Are we here talking about....outputs?....maybe?........or is just that I read what I want to read?
By the way, congratulations for your work Neil. MTBS is working! And congratulations to anyone else involved, of course.

Hi Neil,
Great story, thanks. You write that at least some game developers are working on S-3D on consoles? I was wondering what type of support? I guess that the speed and flexibility of the GPU will limit the output of the console. Any idea what type of output interface standard they will be using? Zalman's flavour, or iZ3D or DLP or something else?

We will have to wait on that. I don't have more details to share yet.

Do you have any other media from siggraph ? Like more pictures, some vidéeos ?
Did you film your 90 minutes presentation Neil ? Or was there anyone in the audience with a camcorder ?
I'd love to see it and hear the crowd's reaction when Mark Rein switches the 3D on.

I'm sorry, guys. I asked, but no videos were taken.
It's a shame because there was a lot of positive energy in the room.

Neil

shame...
Ok, next time take your own camcorder and have someone from the mtbs3D team to film everything, or put the camera on a tripod or something...
Speaking to professionnals at siggraph is an excellent thing but S-3D also lacks quality media exposure (well except nvidia's press releases).
Having someone who knows what he is talking about at an official event with applause from a large crowd is like a giant commercial for S-3D.
The 1sts iZ3D presentation videos on youtube are becoming quite old now, we need some fresh media.
