2012 will find 'Nemo,' other film classics in 3-D

One of the few bright spots in 2011's box-office earnings came when The Lion King roared again with a triumphant re-release in 3-D.

That volume will get even louder in 2012, when four more classic movies return to theaters in newly converted extra-dimensional glory.
Kicking things off today is the opening of 1991 family favorite Beauty and the Beast 3D. On Feb. 10, George Lucas' Star Wars franchise makes its first foray into the new dimension with 1999's EpisodeI — The Phantom Menace. Director James Cameron's Titanic, which ruled the world as the most successful film ever when it was released in 1997, returns April 6, and Pixar's Finding Nemo from 2003 follows on Sept. 14.
