is it worth using hdmi cables with ethernet

hi all just bought a yamaha rx-v371 and as all the rest of my gear is all hdmi 1.4 compatible,except my sky box,would i gain anything by changing the cables to ethernet ones.also with getting the amp i now use the hdmi sound from the gts450 and disabled the onboard via sound which was outputting through spdif does anyone have an opinion to which is best thanks gixer
