New in Release 258.49:

* Adds support for CUDA 3.1 for improved performance in GPU Computing applications. See CUDA for more details.
* Adds support for OpenGL 3.3
* ECC State (appeared in later Release 197 versions)
New page for GPUs that support ECC (error correction code). The page lets you
o Change the Error Correction Code (ECC) state for GPUs.
o View GPU memory details.
* EDID Management
Accessible from the View System Topology page, this feature lets you -
o View the connector information
o Get an EDID from a connected display and save it to disk
o Force an EDID at a connector
o Remove a forced EDID from a connector

* The SDI Capture page is now available with Windows Vista and Windows 7 drivers.
* Workstation application compatibility fixes. Please read the release notes for more information on product support, feature limitations, driver fixes and known compatibility issues.
* If you would like to be notified of upcoming drivers for Windows, please subscribe to the newsletter.
i would probably assume this means no more having to pull the pin in the data cables?
i hope someone can make the newer G92 (8800gts 512mb) vcards and up work....

So if Nvidia allows you to change the EDID via the Nvidia driver itself... and remember it's been altered so that it can set it back to normal on request...
Would 3D vision be fooled or would it know it's been changed and go directly talk with the Nvidia display driver to get the correct EDID ?

someone finally replied!!!

this is pretty big news i believe?

i mean at least if you have an 8800 (G80) card and down you dont have run winxp and previous OS to get 3d to work right?

can someone that knows what is going on and tell us if we have the 8800 (g92 chip) and newer if this will advance it so our cards will somehow work?

...looks like they replicated the functionality of the program called powerstrip. Thats good , not working correctly for me. ( replaced notebook display EDID instead of PJ )

What EDID stuff has to do with g92 ? What s hidden to my eye that lets your g92 function as a g80?

G92: there were 2 revisions, g92, and g92b. - initial 8800 chips werent g92 but g80.

8800GTX = G80, 65nm, wider memory but lower clocks, ultra on par with g92b.

8800GTS = G92, 65nm, 10% of chip is disabled

9800GTX, GTS250 = g92b, latest, 55 nm, still the best price perfomance card, on par with HD4870 at 720p, once serious AntiAliasing is involved the ATI beats it .

incorrect imho

the 8800gts 512mb (g92 non-B) only had one 6pin connector i beleive all cards after that required a 6pin AND an 8pin

now add 2 (9800gtx) cards and see if your psu can factor into that

i have:
MSI 890GXM-G65 (sli 8x 8x)
MSI 8800GTS 512MB x2
Phenom II x4 955BE @ 3.6GHz
2 x2GB G.Skill Ripjaws (DD3 1600)
2 x80GB W.D. Sata HD`s
Linksys Wireless N USB Adapter
Logitiech Wireless USB Mouse and Keyboard
M.S. Wireless Gaming Reciever
M.S. Plug and Play Charger
Sometimes Cellphone with USB ActiveSync Cradle
Thermaltake 600watt
try and do that sli setup with 9800gtx with the same parts
basically you got to switch PSU and that costs extra :)

anyhow i not sure if that helps the G92 users but i believe it helps the G80 users with vista/win7

g92b needs only a single 6 pin connector, I think I build a triple SLI with g92b with my 750w gigabyte supply that has 3x 18ampere ;)
BTW the G92 is descendant of G94, not G80 . Hopefully they release a full blown GF104 card soon.

lets try amd get back on track
correct me if i am wrong...

with the information i posted in this thread in the 1st post...

all gefore 8800 (g80) and lower can get their cards working in vista and windows 7 without pulling the pin in the dvi or vga connectors in the cable correct?

well if that is true then those people will love not having to keep a dual boot winxp machine or worse just a winxp machine period! :)

ok now to the generation after that....
can it help those people or not?

can anyone do anything with this information to help the newer cards get 3ds working?
i have a pair of wired 3d revelators and a pair of the iz3d wired glasses also...

can i use those with vista/win7 to get this working?

There is no clear answer to your question due to what i wrote in my answer :

It might work, but Nvidia has an easy way to prevent you from using this method. So it all depends on how the internals of the nvidia driver works. You'll have to try it to get an answer.

Does anyone have the EDID for the original Zalman 22" 3D display?

I'm getting another Zalman monitor today. If the Nvidia driver is designed to handle this, it would be interesting to give this a try.

Can someone give me step by step instructions?

Keep in mind that driver is for their professional line, not for Geforce.

Ahah! Didn't realize that.

It probably wouldn't have worked, anyway. I normally don't support ideas like this, but since it was an official feature, I didn't see the harm.

theres a link to an .inf file halfway in the text that lets you use this driver on normal cards. And since powerstrip is discontinued afaik....

But did I read exactly on that guru3d.com site that with their modded inf file it supports a lot of cards, including GeForce?

Sorry if I misunderstood.
