Sky has been showing its support for 3D content over the last year and now the company is taking things one step further with the launch of Colossus Productions, its own 3D production company.
Sky already has its own 3D channel, the aptly named Sky 3D. However, if there was ever anyone that didn't believe the company was serious about the new format, Sky has just proved them wrong. BSkyB is today celebrating the formation of its own 3D publishing company. Dubbed Colossus Productions, the company is the result of a partnership with UK-based Atlantic Productions.
The venture is an effort to create more quality 3D content and Variety reports that the two are already collaborating on several projects, including one a documentary about penguins in South Georgia that is set for theatrical release. Pocket-Lint reports that Sky will also be distributing the content to other networks around the globe, such as MTV and the Discovery channel.http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/Sky-3D-pr ... or=RSS-141
