Skyrim - The Complete VR Configuration Guide

Post by CylonSurfer »

Just a link to a guide I have created to help people get Skyrim running in VR. The guide includes:

- Menu positioning
- Dialogue positioning
- HUD positioning
- HUD text resizing
- Immersive first person view settings (visible body)
- Vireio configuration
- Book / note resizing
- Other essential tweaks

I get a lot of PM's on various sites regarding my configuration so I thought it best to compile everything in one guide.

I hope some of you find it useful.

Thanks for the work you did on this CS. I will be trying out your settings ASAP. Perhaps this weekend.

Had very broken shadows before using your guide. Skyrim is looking Great now! I think you might want to add something about detail settings in your guide. Running on a 780ti with SLI disabled, I had to drop very close to the "medium" setting with no anti-aliasing or filtering, in order to hit 71HZ in Skyrim (overclocked oculus). The Vireio Driver adds a ton of overhead!

Another suggestion, some type of no killcams mod added to your list, such as

Glad it hear it. I'll be updating the guide some time shortly to include some of the newer settings found in the newer version of the immersive first person view mod, like being able to turn on free view mode at anytime (including durring killcams).

I too have to run the game on medium settings (i thought i had mentioned that in the guide) with Vireio as opposed to ultra high when I used 3D vision.

The guide has now been updated for the new Virieo version and with Free look configuration. That's right - toggle free look on or off at will for decoupled head / body movement.

If you followed the guide before you should only need to pay attention to 'Immersive First Person View' and 'Invisible Body Parts' sections of the guide.

Have fun!

thanks for the guide! Only problem I have, sometimes when I use a weapon in FPV and change it, the scaling is completely off - arms are too long, and the NPCs seem to shrink. When I switch back to 3rd Person view, it works, back in 1stPView it is still wrong. Any ideas?

Thank you!

No worries!

Yes, you should be using the "immersive first person view mod". If you followed the guide you should have a hot key to toggle this on or off. Its "]" if you followed the guide...

Let me know how you get on.

Damn right. The reduced FOV may give us some performance back as well.
