I made a new torrent for all the free Oculus Rift demos (more than 125) that have come out since the last torrent.

All the new Oculus Rift (Virtual Reality) demos for Windows released since the last torrent. They range from the 5-5-2013 to the 7-7-2013.

They all require the Oculus Rift Virtual Reality HMD. A few also require the Razer Hydra or the Leap.

For ease of use, they are grouped into 3 7zip files. Simply extract the three 7zip files (using 7zip or WinRAR) into a new folder, and the demos will all be ready to run. A few exceptions are included as installer files.

I couldn't get the forum to recognize magnet links as URLs, so if anyone wants to use that magnet link they will have to cut and paste it into the address bar and press Enter. You will need a BitTorrent client (I use uTorrent), but be very careful when downloading a bittorrent client, you need to opt out of every scam they try to trick you with.

At maximum speed it will take 17 hours for my computer to finish uploading every piece, so nobody will be able to finish any faster than that. Sorry.

Please help by continuing to seed it after it finishes.

There are some demos missing because there were no working links to them anywhere on the web. Also MineCrift, Quake 3, and HL-VR are missing because they need more complicated installation and I wasn't quite sure how to, or if they were ready. I might have missed a few other things by accident.

Commercial games and Kickstarter rewards are not included, so you should get the free Team Fortress 2, the free Half Life 2 demo, and Portal: First Slice (not working at the moment though) on Steam. If you have money, you may wish to buy Orange Box, Garry's Mod, Surgery Simulator, Doom 3 BFG (the VR exe is included in this torrent), and/or Dark. And you should look to see if you can still buy the rewards for The Gallery and other kickstarter games.

That reminds me, I forgot to include Vireio Perception.

But I'm sure there are some demos in here that even Oculus employees might have missed. None of the Rift lists were complete, and I had to look through many different forums and sites to find all of these. There's bound to be a few hidden gems in here.

It's 85% now.
And you are right, nobody has downloaded the whole thing yet (I have the whole thing here seeding though). My maximum upload speed is 100 KB/s which means it takes 17 hours to upload the whole thing (actually my upload speed dipped down a few times, so it averaged 70 KB/s). So the first person (and most other people) will finish the download in about 3 hours from now, then the download speed will shoot up to about 100 times as fast because there will be more than one source.
Sorry, but there was no way around that. I did get a couple of people from the other forum to seed the 5 biggest files that could be downloaded from elsewhere, which is why the end part of the torrent looks solid green. But I can't do that for the zip files I created myself.

Just a few more hours now though, then everyone will have it.

Sorry, that would take me another 17 hours, if I could find somewhere to host it. Maybe someone else will upload it somewhere. It's 6.41GB.

BTW, when you extract the 7zip files and install the others, they take up about 20GB.

I've actually uploaded 97.5% of the quota, so a significant percentage of my uploading must have been wasted and redundant, especially when you consider the 20% that other people seeded.
Which means my effective uploading speed is even less than the 68.8 K/s I've been averaging. Sorry about that.

Not long now though. It should be ready in about 2 hours.

Thanks for doing this man this was really helpful.
I would like to throw out a quick word of caution though for VR newbs (like me).

I literally never get motion sick on planes, cars, boats or anything. But in some of these demos I was getting pretty sick and had to lay down for a sec.
Then I ran past this thread:

And I realized that many demos break the design rules, which is fine for VR veterans but it may be a bit tougher on the new guys.
Anyway, one of the tricks to deal with this is to quit as soon as you get sick and then return. So... I'm going to be trying that out to get used to this.

BTW, if you're new to VR I have found the Qbeh demo and the Zombies game did better with motion sickness.
