Son of Nor adding Rift support
Son of Nor has announced Rift support. Its not a stretch goal, though the game wasn't designed for it specifically, but the game seems to be a good fit in general
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/sti ... 1064884f26
it is 56k short of its goal with 5 days left, so its looking kinda shakey.

Re: Son of Nor adding Rift support
Only 25 hours left to back Son of Nor for the Oculus Rift on Kickstarter:
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/sti ... our-weapon
Son of Nor promises full Oculus Rift support. And I trust them because:
* It was designed from the start to be immersive (even before they decided on Rift support)
* It deliberately has no HUD or UI on screen
* It's not a stretch goal
* It supports the Emotiv Epoc, and includes it in some reward tiers
"Immersion
The game is being designed in a way to have as little HUD and UI as possible. There will be no on-screen icons you have to click to trigger magic, or life bars that show how many hit points a player has left. As much information as possible is delivered using natural interaction, visual effects, animation and sound."
So what are you waiting for? Go and back it NOW!

I really don't know if this one will make it or not. It's 82% of the way there, with 23 hours to go, but they seem to be making good progress, so it could go either way. I hope it succeeds.

I'm kind of sceptical using both the rift + epoc + headphones (+Hydra ? ) at the same times.
But it would be cool if it works

ill see if it reaches the funding near the end and then i think ill back it for sure. 36 bucks for closed beta + final game doesnt seem like a bad deal at all

If you back it, and it doesn't get funded, then you get your money back. So you might as well back it now.

Congrats. I like the idea of utilizing EPOC to cast spells etc. Always thought that aiming and killing enemies in COD with your mind is pretty silly but now I can see this can be another great immersive tool when we're in the magic world. Something out of a dream. Interesting to see how it plays out.

That was a close kickstarter. This game may get me to get an emotiv headset, we shall see.

Re: Son of Nor adding Rift support
This was a close call. I'm glad it worked out for them.
It's better to miss a target by $20K than $5K.
Regards,
Neil

Re: Son of Nor adding Rift support
Be careful about getting an Emotiv headset. They try to make most of their money from developers, so you can't develop for one unless you buy the $500 version. And even then, you are only allowed to sell it through Emotiv's online store, and you don't have access to the raw EEG values.Mystify wrote:That was a close kickstarter. That is a large part of why I haven't gotten one already.2EyeGuy wrote:Be careful about getting an Emotiv headset.
