GTA IV - Oculus Rift Compatible HUD

Post by CylonSurfer »

Hi all,

Just a quick heads up about a small mod I’ve created to be used with VORPX and C06alt’s ‘First Person’ mod.

Essentially it repositions game essential HUD items so they are viewable in the Rift. Currently you’ll need to use VORPX’s edge peak function in order to use the in-game cell phone.

Good timing! GTA4 is 75% off for the next 15 hours on Steam.

The file is not available at that site, could you post it here or otherwise please?

You can get it here for now:

I'll get it hosted somewhere better later on.

I recently did some testing for C06alt and his updated GTA IV first person mod. It has beta Rift support with native Rift head tracking and decoupled camera / body movement. The mod also spawns Niko's phone in a viewable position so the game (including the main story & missions) is now playable with VR drivers other than just VORPX. To be honest TriDef runs the game really well now and I personally believe gives the best overall 3d effect.

You can find C06alt's new release here:

Don't forget to disable the head tracking feature in whichever VR driver you use. You may need to restart GTA after doing this for this first time.
