Rift enabled games on Steam/Greenlight

Post by zino »

I was happily surpriced to see a game in Steams new Greenlight program pledging Rift support.

I made a Greenlight collection to keep track of any other Rift enabled games that might pop up. Help keeping it up to date will always be appriciated:

I upvoted it for rift goodness. I checked through the rest, seems to be the only one at the moment.

Wolfire just pledged to make Receiver compatible with the Rift once Unity is compatible.

This is a great platform for indie developers for the coming year. These small teams can easily take risks and make quick quick decisions to support a research platform. And it gives their formerly obscure games a bit more visibility and a targeted market because 5 or 6 thousand people are going to be looking for all sorts of Rift games come December.

WOW, low gravity VR. I still remember being blown away by the low gravity level in the original Quake and can just image such things on the Oculus. Hopefully they'll add some fun stuff to do in low gravity.

Nice initiative, as I posted on Steam too. I'm just concerned I will forget to check in to see new games, perhaps some kind of repository of titles promising support would make sense... either on the official site or a fansite, are there fansites yet? O.o I realized I just come here to read threads, which makes sense so far I guess.

But yeah, a mailing list or RSS feed... is that possible? I would guess not, Steam feels a bit too closed for that, all I can do is favorite the list. Oh well.

I'd love it, but it's outside what I'll spend time on right now.

Routine looks like a fantastic concept, and with rift support it could be an amazing experience.

I am a little concerned regarding the Miner Wars support. Bought this on a sale on steam (as I knew rift support was promised) but also because they said they were integrating track Ir. Its currently not there. Now anytime someone asks about it the team just say they have released the engine as open source for people to mod themselves and also that the track ir specialist left the team. That's fair enough but I would hope one of their devs to follow through on a couple of promises - especially regarding the rift.

That sucks, and makes the devs scammers really. Might be best if in future we wait for the promises before throwing down the hard earned.

Agree. And I would suggest removing the title from the Oculus Rift Steam collection.

Very good initiative starting this list!
It will reduce my mess of a bookmark page for sure.

...is this the "resurrection" of adventure games?
I sure hope so.

So what you are saying is that you'll have only 5 or 6 thousand dev kits shipped by December?

EDIT: LOL, just realized this post was from last year. I hope this prediction doesn't come true for this year. Wouldn't surprise me though.

It will be interesting when we get to the point of being able to have Rift-bundles.
