VR and out of body experiences

Post by budda »

Hi,

Just watched an interesting science show about how the brain may perceive things that are not really there.

With the use of virtual reality techniques, this could be a useful tool for pain management, and also for scary entertainment.

It may have implications for the use of haptic feedback in VR, and possibly cause confounding psychological problems in predisposed people - like the nausea problem.

There is a section where the Oculus Rift is being used for research.
