Hey everyone,

I really can't wait to check out all your videos when my DK2 finally arrives - seems like you all made some great progress!

Does anyone of you by chance have an idea where to get gopro M12 fisheye replacement lenses in Europe that aren't excessively expensive like those from ragecam or sunex (due to shipping)? I want to use my GoPro 2s to practice changing the lenses before investing the money for a pair of 3+ Black and possibly ruining them in the process of changing to wider FOV lenses.

I've found these local websites, but I have no idea which of those lenses would fit GoPro 2s or 3+. Peter especially, you're the expert on this - care to take a look?

Thanks!

@kclai: Do you have a rough estimate on the price for those lenses? And do you happen to have some more examples of your rig? It definitely sounds very interesting!

Hi
I have mainly been posting about this stuff on the Oculus Forums -- Stereoscopic section -- as "mediavr"
https://developer.oculusvr.com/forums/v ... m.php?f=33

and on the Oculus sub-Reddit as "elifant"
http://www.reddit.com/r/oculus/

Lensation does have some really interesting looking lenses for this -- they have this lens which is not still listed by their dealers but is still for sale directly from Lensation I think -- which is rated at 9 Mp! -- which has a longish threaded barrel which looks like it would focus on the Gopro 3+ Black --

Fisheye BF9M1422

[Edit] This looks to be the same lens

Omnitech make a classy C-mount fisheye, and they have a M12 190 degree fisheye too, and they said they would cement on an IR filter if I wanted it.
http://www.omnitech.com/fisheye.htm
$250 for lens, plus $50 for filter
Omnitech fisheyes are used a lot for all-sky fisheyes for astronomy and I suspect it is good but it is not specifically designed for megapixel sensors. It has a long barrel so should work on Gopro 3+
