The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (2013)

Post by Dilip »

Nice Movie, Great SMAUG watched in 3D but not IMAX one.I would like to know from people who enjoyed in IMAX (Watching Smaug in full glory).

Story seems small and little altered from original books. Overall better movie experience though and fast paced compared to first part An Unexpected Journey, which seem little on boring side to me. SMAUG talking in English with Every1 felt little BS and hardly acceptable thogh.

CGI was as mind-blowing as any Peter Jackson Movie. 3d depth though perceived to be minimal in most of movie.

I saw it in HFR 3D. I enjoyed it very much.

For the first 5 - 10 minutes the HFR was strange, but I liked it overall.

I definitely accommodated to the HFR by the end of the movie, but it was distracting at first. I think it's more a matter of cinematography than technology, though. Particularly, I felt that HFR worked much better when the camera motion was limited (less "swooshy").

HFR in the previous movie annoyed enough people that they "softened" it for this film:
