Dredd: The 3D Blu-ray

Post by Chiefwinston »

My brother said this was a great movie. So I bought it. Now I regret buying it. Really really stupid movie. The 3D is supposed to be native 3D. I thought the 3D was decent. But the 3D still couldn't save this dog.

Chief's score card:
Story: 6.0
Acting: 4.5
Special effects: 7.0
Music and Sound: 6.0
3D: 6.5/6.75

Final Score: 4.0

Its dreadful. I'm gonna just give my bro the disk as a gift. Seeing that he likes it.

Peace

Its basically the same story as 'The Raid' only with Dredd.

Effects were good, Megacity One was well designed, but the plot was terrible really.

I believe its also a remake from an old Stallone movie "Judge Dredd".

I think this is one of those movies that people will either love or hate. I saw it at the cinema and really enjoyed it, but it's EXTREMELY CHEESY. It is a bit of mindless fun if you're I the mood, or a meaningless bore if not.
Either way, at the cinema the slo-mo scenes were 3d awesomeness!

Really??? I thought this was the best movie I have seen in a long time. Especially due to the 3D.

Like I say, I really enjoyed it, but I can also see why some others wouldn't. Having not seen it on the small screen yet, it's really hard to know how well it will convert and if the 3D is impressive at all. I'm sure it'll be cheap enough for me to get on 3DBD soon though.

I loved Dredd and to date it's the only movie that I own that I've only ever watched the 3D version (probably 6 or 7 times now).
I dont think the 3D is amazing but it does the right job at the right time. The sound is more important than the 3D with this movie IMO. I was so impressed with the audio on our UK release in 5.1 that I also imported the US version which has a 7.1 soundtrack which is incredible :woot

I'm not a fan of comic books, had no interest in previous Dredd stuff, but this was short, sharp and straight to the point. Looked okay, sounded great and was almost non stop action..what's not to like

This is one of the underdog movie. For me it's good but not great.
Storyline too simple and straight to the point. Slowmo effect is kinda cool.
Anyway, I wished that the way Mama died will be more tragic.
Yap, there is more action in "The Raid" than in this movie.
