The device is pretty simple but works well.

I have a PS3, an Onkyo receiver for switching HDMI (only works with 2D), and a projector (also 2D). This device sits in-between the PS3 and the receiver and splits the HDMI signal to both the receiver and the ST1080 controller box. When outputting 2D content, both the projector and ST1080 show the signal. When I switch to 3D content, the receiver looses handshake and only the ST1080 outputs video.

The output side has two HDMI ports with an LED for each. When a successful handshake is made, the LED corresponding to that output is lit. I use a 15 ft HDMI cable for video and the Lenmar power adapter I mentioned above with a 6ft USB-A extender and a 6ft USB-A to micro-B cable for power. That gives me ample cable runs for comfortably laying on the couch and enjoying the ST1080.

I just ordered another of the Lenmar USB chargers since the power supply that comes with the ST1080 (despite being micro USB) does not charge my cell phone. I currently just leave power plugs in the living room and the nightstand and just need to plug in the controller box and the glasses. Upgrading to another Lenmar makes this Micro USB power plug a dual use device.
