Just purchased this program after trying out per your favorable comment. Thank you!
Now comes the question heheh...I got tons of pictures I want to run this conversion on but it doesn't have batch processing and also I want to write the left/right files out with the correct extension _l, _r to make it compatible with viewing software. How do you solve these problems ? I guess the batch processing is a bigger deal. Would appreciate any pointer. I've never wrote any Windows script and wonder whether there is a script language that's applicable to these two issues? DR

Unfortunately, I do not know that you advise. I convert only a few pictures.

I think this program is great too. That being said, it has some setbacks. It seems to gather most of its depth information by analyzing the light and shadows of the picture; that's all well and good if the shadows and highlights of your image match well the depth of the image (sometimes they do, though often they don't), but if they don't I find the images don't turn out so well. It seems to work best on images like portraits where the shadows on the face do correspond well with depth. Doesn't work so well with images like landscapes containing lots of objects at different depths: an image with, say, bright sky and clouds in back of some dimly lit object in the foreground doesn't render properly in this program.

Still, it's great, and it gives the option to favour depth as between objects in the scene vs. the roundness or voluminous look of objects on their own within the picture (wish we could have the best of both worlds :p).

It's a good starting point for further editing if you're converting 2d to 3d. I like to start with this automated program and then open the stereopairs up in 3D Gugle Pro for further manual adjustments.

3D Gugle Pro is a great program too. Everyone should check out their beautiful galleries: http://alfa.magia.it/Images/ExamplesDirectANA.htm
