Hey, I listened to your interview. You made alot of good points and facts about 3D and Virtual Reality and things meant to be seen.
But about the 3D dying off. I'm not quite certain its died off cause there are still 3d movies playing at the theatre and 3d vision is still going strong mostly and you can still buy high quality 3dtv's and monitors and dlp 3d projectors. What gave 3d its weak point was headaches from window violations and alot of peoples ipd were different and the tech behind 3d was old and not being worked on to much to enhance the visual quality. And film makers needed training and reworking of their films for proper 3d format.
3D is now in every Vr game out now and its quite good now with no ghosting and sometimes holographic like senses of the Vr gfx.
Once theres a chance at autostereoscopic 3dtv's then 3d will come back hard and good, holographic displays for gaming and movies.
Good interview none the less.

Re: MTBS on Computer America
I may find myself eating my own words about modern 2D / 3D conversions.
https://ita3d.com/immersed-2017-speakers/
Nick Brown, Stereographer at Stereo D, is going to be speaking at Immersed. Nick did the 2D/3D conversion of Blade Runner 2049. I am told the 3D is excellent - and this is coming from Habib Zargarpour...whose Real Time Visualization System is being used to create Steven Spielberg's upcoming Ready Player One. Yes, Habib will be speaking at Immersed too.
I'm going to check out Blade Runner 2049 this weekend (NO SPOILERS PLEASE!).
Regards,
Neil

Re: MTBS on Computer America
I would'nt worry about the fake 3d stuff to much. At one time years ago the fake 3d films did seem flat and it was like "whats the point of having 3d if theres no depth and volume". I remember complaining in the forums about that too. Now I think there has been some changes in the way the studios produce the 3d depth information and it looks more real than ever, but probably dual camera is the best way to get 3D.
I'm glad there are still move movies coming out in 3D, but there is no where to buy the 3d blu-ray locally in my city, BestBuy does not carry the movies anymore and HMV got closed down. I might have to find a place online to order from maybe.
