Hi! I want to upgrade to a GTX 295 from a gtx280 because at 1080p 3D vision is too much for a single GTX280 (mobo is crossfire) but someone said 3D Vision is not compatible with SLI so it ends up using just one of the cores inside the GTX295...is that real? Thanks

Yeah, the GTX295 is supported on 3D Vision as well as standard 2x SLI configurations. Tri and Quad SLI is not officially supported, although I have heard some users claim it works on certain titles. This is a recent addition to their driver and prior to a few months ago there was no SLI support with 3D drivers, so thats probably why you would have heard that.

If you can wait some 3-4 months for the new 300 series cards, you can then get a single core gtx 380 or whatever they will call it and won't have to worry about all the sli problems. Should cost about the same $450-$600 I assume the same as the current gtx 295 cost.

I have two GTX-295 videocards and plan use it for 3D together... This is Quad-SLI? Does this configuration work with current 190.62 drivers? Sorry for my English, I am from Russia... (Conf. - Zalman 22" monitor, Vista 32-bit)

Yes, that is considered Quad-SLI since the GTX295 is basically two cards in one. Nvidia's official stance is that this is not supported. For many games it probably isn't. But I have heard of some users which had success with this setup on games like Resident Evil 5. But be prepared that you may have to disable one card, or that the game will not utilize the second card, when you are playing in stereo 3d. However I do not run SLI myself so I cannot verify any of this.

Thanks, Cybereality. I plan to play Wolfenstein 2009 and Dead Space... I wait new 3D Plasma from Panasonic, that must work on 1920x1080p on stereo 3D. I think, that perfect rendering is possible only on Quad-SLI for this high resolution stereo-3D ("3D HD")...

Quad SLI (based on GTX295) is not utilized in 3D Vision, only normal SLI. I have also GTX295 and for games you are writing about you will have maximum framerate anyway.
Notice that 3D Vision forces vertical sync on games when activated, i.e. if stereo is activated in nvidia control panel you will always have maximum of 120fps in normal mode and maximum of 60fps is stereoscopic mode.
There is only one game that is very hungry, Resident Evil 5 (excellent 3D Ready game), it is very CPU bound and is probably not optimized because in stereo framerate is 1/4 - 1/3 in comparision with normal framerate.
PS: And I confirm that GTX295 works perfectly with 3D Vision.

How about a GTX295 with a 9800gtx+ for physx, would that be an issue?

Or I need special manipulating with software? I use Zalman Trimon 22" monitor with own polarised glasses, not 3d-vision glasses. But I use Nvidia driver with its stereo component( 191.03 Beta)

If you have two GTX295 graphics cards and the latest Nvidia drivers, I suppose quad-sli will be activated and PhysX activated on that SLI.
I do not have 2xGTX295 so I do not know what will be exactly displayed in the nvidia control panel.

OK, I do it But when I activate Quad-SLI option on Nvidia Control panel - stereo test application become jerky and no so smooth as on single mode And "language panel" not working and I cannot switch between english and russian language So I turn Quad-SLI to OFF, but activate "PhysX" checkbox for the second videocard
