I'll ask the question first before I get into the details, the question is simply: How do I swap the left and right images in the Philips 3D multiview stereo type mode?

I have an Nvidia GeForce 7800 GS AGP with video drivers 178.24 and the Nvidia Sereo drivers 162.50 from Guru3D.com and I'm using the Philips 3D Multiview panel for the stereo type. I was using anaglyph but it doesn't work with this one game and Philips does. The Problem I'm having is that in Philips 3D multiview the images are reversed. It makes it so that the game is rendered in two images split down the screen, one on the left from the right eyes perspective, and one on the right from the left eyes perspective and if you cross your eyes you can view the game in 3D without glasses, but the images are reversed so the 3D is messed up.

I cannot figure out for the life of me how to swap the left and the right image in this mode. I want to reverse the left and right but there is no option to do this as far as I can tell and I'm hoping someone knows a hotkey. I've taken a screenshot using print screen button and I've taken it into photoshop and swapped the left and right images and viola the image is in the correct 3D so I know it's the problem. Here are the images...

Also, here's a pic of my Nvidia conrol panel so you can see how I have it configured...

Basically the Philips 3D mode is set to Parallel View and I need it set to Crossview. Does anyone know how to do this? Thnx.

I've never tried the philips 3d mode but my initial impression is that its not possible to do what you want.

:(

I guess If I want to see the effects I'll have to record the game using Growler Guncam and import it into Adobe Premier, cut the video in half, and swap them that way. Then I can just watch the video lol.

Eh... The Philips multiview displays that I know do not work with stereo. They work with depth. What type (number, set, a bit more info please) are you talking about? The name says it: multiview. As far as I know they only support their video_depth interface.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by interface, do you mean monitor. I'm using the Philips 3D multiview that comes with Nvidia Stereo drivers 162.5. It works on my computer fine with my CRT monitor but it's just reversed. Yeah I guess it's designed for something else. The same thing is going on with iZ3D as well if you look here... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J4cP6YbVtVg

The 3D is reversed. You're supposed to be able to cross your eyes and see the 3D but it won't worked unless they're flipped, but since it seems to be the same no matter where I turn I guess this just doesn't exist yet. It just seemed to me that the technology is right there and all they had to do was add a flip option and they didn't do it = /.

Never Mind, I've got it all figured out. I just reinstalled iZ3D driver 1.09 and used the Side by Side method and found that by hiting ctrl+F8 that the images swap and I can use the crossview I was looking for. The trial had run out on my last install, but when I reinstalled the trail started over, nice glitch huh. Now I don't have to worry about that anymore.

Yes, nvidia has been negligent/shortsighted to not include a flip/eye-swap function, but lately I've figured out a little more about how their convergence control works and it turns out that it changes the separation between the virtual cameras. Do this: run test, use low separation, decrease convergence (push scene away) and hold it and hold it and hold it. Eventually the scene will gain depth for you crosseyed because what happened was that you decreased the distance between the cameras and it went to zero and then went negative meaning that the cameras switched places. The problem with this is that, because of the way that the separation controls work, the entire scene is popped out meaning that if the HUD is at screen-depth (2d), then it will seem like it's located beyond infinity in the gamespace. So it's only a partially useful solution but that's the best we get from nvidia sometimes.

A somewhat quicker way is to edit the 3d gameconfig registry entry for convergence. If you know binary/hexadecimal, toggle the most significant bit. That's the positive/negative sign bit. Then run the game and tweak the settings form there.

Sorry I don't have anything better. If you were using shutterglasses, you could swap their sync. See the "Post registry entries here" topic for more info.

Yeah, I almost did the hold the button thing down with nvidia. I figured it would eventually work just with the hud problems it's not worth it. Thanks for the response, but I'll just have to use iZ3D for now.
