Hi.

I've installed 177.66+174.76 under Vista 32, Direct3D works fine, but seems like no OpenGL support there.
Help me please, how to enable OpenGL?

No way to run Quake3 in stereo mode.
Seems like driver is unable to identify fullscreen mode and understand need of interlacing.

I'm also trying to run my own applications developed for Z800 - everything was ok with old drivers on 6600, but now - usual 2D on Zalman.

Help!

Thanks.

My understanding is there is some kind of limitation with Vista that prevents OpenGL Stereo (with NVIDIA drivers) to work. It's not functional yet. I've tried Doom 3 and Prey at my end, same problems.

Regards,
Neil

That may be the exception. Read through the Vista Forceware manual.

Yeah, I am interested in this as well. Its seems that they are trying to silently drop OpenGL support or something. Maybe it is reserved for Quadro cards only, I am not sure. But I have had no luck getting any OpenGL applications to work with the Nvidia drivers under Vista w/ 8800 card. Even dirt simple applications like a spinning cube or whatever will not enable, so its not just a matter of game support. I would be interested to know the story behind this. Did Nvidia drop the support or did this come from Microsoft like with EAX?

Hi nick1536

It looks like you've got two options:

1. Downgrade to a 7 series card like 7900 GTX or 7950 GX2

or

2. Install the 162.50 driver with the crappy 162.50 beta stereoscopic driver (available on this site). In which case you get blue screens, artifacts, etc... lots of fun. I believe with these drivers you also need to change a registry key...

Copied this from http://forums.nvidia.com/lofiversion/in ... 48566.html

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NvCplApi\Policies]
"ContextUIPolicy"=dword:00000001
"TaskbarUIPolicy"=dword:00000002
"CplGroupUIPolicy"=dword:00000003

stereo OSD
- Choose: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE --> Software --> NVidia Corp --> Global --> Stereo3D
- Select edit -> new -> DWORD
- Create new entry: StereoOSDEnable
- Set DWORD to 1
