Error in Nvidia stereoscopics setting

I have just bought a Sony 3d T.V which I connected to my video card Geforce GTS 450 via HDMI cable. I downloaded a 3D movie but I can't seem to turn on the stereoscopic 3D in Nvidia control panel. I get error message: Error in Stereo Driver, NvAPI_stereo_IsActivated0 returned 0 after stereo was enable by default with setting->setDefaultStartupMode(true). I tried using 3d without stereoscopic 3D setting enabled with no luck as well. What do I have to do to make this work

Hi, Is this Sony 3D TV on nvidias list of CERTIFIED TV's?? I am thinking it is not as they only have DLP HDTV's that are in the list..

3D TVs are not supported via 3D Vision but via 3DTV Play (in HDMI 1.4a), there are many Sony models in the list of supported TVs :
