Ok i've managed to get 3dvision working on the Samsung S27A950 monitor using the method below. My question is I am getting a huge amount of ghosting/cross-talk using this method. If I use DDD Tri-def then there is absolutely no ghosting whatsoever.

What can I do?

Method to get 3dvision working on the S27A950 monitor:

1. Download and install the 3d vision emulator

http://hotfile.com/d...ulator.zip.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

2. run the DSF-KitSetup.msi file

3. Run the init_x64.bat file (running win 7 64 bit)

4. run the enablestereo.bat file, but the console window just immediately closes?

make sure u run all .bat files from command prompt

let windows install the new usb device

5. go to nvidea 3dvision set up and install the 3dvision usb emitter option

6. go through all the menus

7. once installed it will say congratulations you have installed it. after that, go to control panel, enable 3dvision in control panel, select CRT monitor and then launch any game that's compatible with 3dvision

The link you posted is broken. Looks like its because there is a "...", you need to copy from the full address.

Generally ghosting is only related to the display, but with this one Samsung uses a special mode to limit its effects by displaying black frames. I suppose this technique will only work with the DDD driver, so I'm afraid you'll have to endure this more visible ghosting with 3D Vision...

I know with certain 3D Vision monitors there was supposedly a secret overdrive mode used for 3D. So this Samsung probably has something similar (as Fredz noted). This is only something I believe GPU makers have access to in their driver, not sure how feasible it would be to hack the monitor into this mode.

figured it out – turn off anti-aliasing in the game and it runs fine.

you need to also ensure depth is between 15 – 20% for optimal effect.

witcher 2 is truly amazing.

Interesting. I always turn off AA anyway, I think it just makes the screen blurry.

and you also need to set the response time on the monitor to normal from fastest - reduces ghosting significantly.

New Nvidia beta drivers suggests that they are moving towards removing CRT mode support which disables 3dvision functionality on this monitor. Appreciate it if anyone can post a workaround for this monitor.

Hi!
Is there something new to that topic?
I own a Samsung S23A700D and being able to also use 3D-Vision would be great!

Especially as I am going to upgrade my 8800GT to an 9800GX2 tonight...
