Hi fellas,

Is there a way to uncap the max separation from the limit of 5000.50%?

I find that in some games such as RPGs with a top down view, it just isn't enough.

I would really appreciate any help on this.

Regards,
-- Shahzad.

Maybe you can adjust the convergence instead?

I like to have the convergence on these top-down games so that the entire scene converges exactly at screen depth so it's like I'm playing on a toy model table... very cool effect. I wouldn't like to change the convergence from this setting as i really like the effect :)

Oh, ok! I thought you were aiming for the "look how far down all those buildings are!" effect.

I guess you tried already manually editing the XML File?

I tried looking intot he XML files in the "Application Data" folder. I could not find any value that might be what I am looking for :(

"separation" nor "5000" fail to yield any results.

Anyone? :)

You can't uncap the max separation limit, but you can change separation scale <SeparationScale Value="any value" />

Yaa, KindDragon, thats what I mean. In the XML File you got these:

<One_div_ZPS Value="0.050442" />
<StereoBase Value="1.945508" />

From Medal of Honor Airiborne.
I guess, first one is convergence and second is seperation. Convergence seems to be the same number as ingame, but strangly seperation not. I think ingame i have something aroound 300%, but def. not 1.94%, or 19.4% nor 194%. I dont know, how this numbers is put together. :?: But try some (high)values, it might work.

Somebody remember the default Standard seperation? Its 20% if Im not mistaken... So the standard default conf XML looks like this:

<One_div_ZPS Value="0.500000" />
<StereoBase Value="0.016000" />

I use Version 1.08.0023, the "old" 1.09 BETA, not BETA2.

Hi KindDragon

Sorry, I have been away.

Thank you for the tip.

However, I cannot seem to get it to work. I assume I'm meant to put the value in teh UserProfiles XML file under C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\iZ3D Driver. I have put it towards the top before the profiles start, and under the sacred2 profile. It doesn't seem to have any affect on the game.

The value I am using is "20"

I would really appreciate some help please. It seems that the max separation is just an arbitrary value which should be easy to work around... hopefully using the <SeparationScale Value="20" /> variable.

Best Regards,

Hi RAGEdemon

I tried it and it works! (with Oblivion)
I changed the "StereoBase Value" to a value of 50. Then ingame, if I activate the IZ3D Driver, i get 6500% separation! Mission successful! 8)

Forget the "SeparationScale Value", this command does not exist, at least in my XML... Just change one of the three existing StereoBase Value Presets to a high number. It should work. At least in Oblivion it did, I hope you get it to work too. Good Luck!

Greetings
Phil

How doesn't exist? Open config.xml from 1.09 and search SeparationScale. We use it, for example, for Google Earh.

Hm, thats strange... It doesnt exist in UserProfile.xml for Google:

<Profile Name="Google Earth">
<File Name="googleearth.exe" />
<Presets>
<SwapEyes Value="0" />
<LaserSightEnable Value="0" />
<Preset Index="0">
<One_div_ZPS Value="60.875374" />
<StereoBase Value="0.009715" />
<AutoFocusEnable Value="1" />
</Preset>
<Preset Index="1">
<One_div_ZPS Value="-8.775429" />
<StereoBase Value="0.147741" />
<AutoFocusEnable Value="1" />
</Preset>
<Preset Index="2">
<One_div_ZPS Value="0.500000" />
<StereoBase Value="0.016000" />
<AutoFocusEnable Value="0" />
</Preset>
</Presets>
<Keys />
</Profile>

I do not have config.xml.

I also noticed that in Statistic.xml under every Profile there is <DriverVersion Value="1.07.0000" />

Is this a problem? SHould it be 1.09?

Config.xml is hidden, where you will never, ever find it...

You may have thought you had beaten us when you found c:\Users\soundstorm\AppData\Roaming\iZ3D Driver\UserProfile.xml,

But you will never find C:\Users\soundstorm\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\iZ3D Driver\Config.xml

:twisted: Muahahahaha, muahahahaha! :twisted:

Ok, i found it now. Thanks for the info, I did not know this. Config.xml seems to be the Main Config for the driver.

But the solution for RageDemon still stands: Edit the UserProfile.xml and change "StereoBase Value" to a high number. With this method i get 6500% in Oblivion. :wink: No need to cange the Seperation Scale or what do you think? :?: I imagine also, that the config File gets overwritten with a new install, so changes get lost maybe? In the User XML, it shouldnt...

I just try to help!! Don't be so hard on me! :lol:

By the way, my config is here: I:\Documents\All Users\Appliacation Data\iZ3D Driver
And the Userprofile.xml is here: I:\Documents\Soundstorm VFX\Application Data\iZ3D Driver

:roll:
