As promised, MTBS is pleased to present the first in a series of MTBS interviews. Today, we feature Hammerhead Studios and their VR project "Undercurrent". Our hard to impress interviewer (cough, cough..."interrogator") Gabriel Tripp was so moved by their demo, he insisted that Hammerhead Studios make an appearance on MTBS. So here they are!
Man! Has news been slow this week. Sure, there's the regular blurb story about X adding Rift support or "wouldn't this look great in VR" or another Kickstarter...but original content is hard to come by because let's face it, it's hard to do a lot of depth around something that doesn't really exist yet.
Patience! This week, MTBS will start a slew of interviews, Vireio is coming along very nicely, and we are hard at work on doing something completely new.
However, to help wet your appetite, we have a riddle for you. What does Star Trek, James Cameron, and the Oculus Rift have in common? There will be a long and detailed answer to this, we promise!
With all the talk of The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), we thought it fitting to bring up another festival that is happening later the same month. The 3D Film Innovation Consortium (3DFLIC) is hosting their second annual Toronto International Stereoscopic 3D Conference.
Taking place September 20th through September 23rd, the conference features 3D screenings, presentations, and panel discussions about stereoscopic 3D cinema. Neil Schneider from MTBS will be talking about S-3D gaming and new technologies outside the standard cinema space.
