Command With Starship Commander

We first spotted this on Tom's Hardware and it's beyond cool. Developed by Human Interact, Starship Commander is a yet to be released virtual reality game for the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive that puts you in the captain's seat of an interstellar space ship. In a choose your own adventure format, what sets this game apart is not only are you the commander of this adventure-bound vessel, you do so through the power of speech. In other words, you don't just tap at your keyboard to mimmick what you want to convey, you speak with authority using the vocal chords your mamma gave you!

Starship Commander takes advantage of Microsoft's Custom Speech Service put out by their Cognitive Services division. What makes Custom Speech Service unique is that their platform goes beyond the limits of a few phrase recognitions and builds on the magic by allowing the expansion of the words library and recognizing the nuances of dynamic human communication so that the game understands you. It's impressive on paper; can't wait to experience it in a galaxy far far away!
